When I play it, even 1 or 2 players slows down tremendously with bots. This is in low-res, too. Why is high-res even in the game?

Yep, Perfect Dark and No Mercy were silky smooth.

No Mercy's framerate only slows down when there are 3 or more guys on screen. 1 on 1 matches had a nice, smooth framerate

try counter-strike

DoD has more complicated graphics, try making you're page file even bigger and see if that works. my page file is set to 2 gb lol

well i'm stumped, i've never had any problems with Half-life or mods. any time an error popped up i just did a reinstall. but since you did that then i'm guessing the problem lies within your PC. how big is your pagefile? try increasing your virtual memory, see if that helps

well i know that if you use OpenGL with a voodoo card, you have to go to the video modes option, then go to the OpenGL dropdown menu and select 3dfx. try that and see if it works
