text in sdl?
Is there a way in the main sdl library to display text on a buffer? I.E. screen (seems to be the default most used in SDL) Ive seen a couple examples that use windows fonts (arial, etc.), but thats absolutely useless to me, as Im running slackware linux, and plan to cross compile to other OSs. Do I ...

how to resize a winXP partition safely...
OK, I'm going to install slackware to my new(er) PC, but last time I tried reformatting a windows XP partition for a friend, it gave an error message, and refused to start up windows XP until I reinstalled it.
any way to get around having to reinstall the OS?

okay, this may seem rather strange, but I need to learn how to fight. I dont go looking for fights, and Ive only been punched a couple times (only one time when I was in a fight, and I dishonored myself by letting myself take a beating and saying I wouldnt fight back...) I'm pretty sure that martial...

I need to know how to completly remove my home network...
I screwed up in creating a LAN in my house between my xbox and pc -- in the process there is some part of my network that is using the IP address I need my ethernet card to use... I've tried uninstalling the card itself, but after the reinstall, the network was still there. I dont see what is using ...

I got Valkyrie profile last summer... for 8 bucks!!!
I just found out that it was rare too... check the prices for it at amazon.com... I bought it at a pawn shop for 8 bucks in working order with box and instruction booklet. Its a strange type of RPG, but I rather like it. I find it exciting, challenging, and it has a very good story (yes, I know its ...

How I'm going to freeload a wifi (legally) for my DS.
yup, it's legal -- as long as I spend a couple bucks on a bagel and coffee... once I get some wifi compatible games, Im going to head to the nearest Panera Bread restaurant near me -- it says right on the door "free wifi hotspot", and even though its probably intended for business, there's...

all these cowards run from the law like it has power these days. I hate ti be dissing the DC, but the DS has better sound quality, and graphics really arent a testament to power, but I find them crisp and very clear -- just as good as DCs... and they ARE better than N64 graphics... well, they CAN BE... it depends on how much effort the developers put into it... a...

I read somewhere that not all resident evil (PC ver.) copies had the intro scene.
I just got a copy for 33 cents, with the intro, and the jewel case, though the instructions are a bit moldy and water damaged...
anyway, is it rare?
