Re: PSO Questions & Answers
Maybe their QC never experienced that because they were using original copies of the game, on real physical gamecubes, on SEGA's official servers. Not some dodgy downloaded ISO, on a crappy emulator, on an unofficial server pieced together from packet captures.

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
Well as far as I could tell, the drop requests were going out but they weren't echoing back. Hence no drops. They stopped some time during Forest 1 and I played up until the central dome warp in Forest 2 before bailing out. It was as if the server somehow forgot that I was the host and that those re...

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
That may be the case for Dolphin with its shoddy timebase implementation but the game is coded so that it will disconnect the session (i.e. save and return to the menu) if an expected response takes too long, and that is indeed what happens when the connection dies/lags excessively.

Re: PSO Questions & Answers
I had a weird glitch today playing EN#1, roughly half-way through the first area all drops ceased - nothing from boxes, enemies, even rappys. I disconnected and started the quest again, finished it without a problem. There's nothing server-side that can cause the "drop item" client request...

Re: SOLVED: Wii to Sylverant connection issues
Devolution is actually the only wii homebrew app smart enough to prevent usage of bluetooth channels that overlap the current wifi channel. Seems it only makes the bluetooth more stable rather than the wifi though...

Re: Wii to Sylverant connection issues
You realize my VPS is less than a 30ms hop away from Sylverant? It's practically right next to it compared to the distance between UK<->US.
The dropouts are most likely caused by your wii's wifi dropping out and/or lagging.

I have never had the GC version crash except when loading broken quests. Maybe you should try a real console instead of an emulator...

Re: Might take a break from PSO for a while...
Anyway, none of this matters because neither have ever failed, and one of those being after several years of use. Moreover, I believe that based on my personal findings, it is very likely that the majority of memory cards in use are probably not official ones. Yep. I think there's a thread somewher...

There are still a couple of updates to come but I think it's mostly feature complete.

Re: GameCube/Wii Players
The rebooting is expected when a crash happens, since Devolution basically works like a safety net and is able to bail out instead of just falling on its ass and buzzing forever like a gamecube.byte.me wrote:I crashed (not to mention made my Wii reboot itself) when the DC player used a switch.

It's in the readme.txt file that comes with Devolution (that apparently nobody bothers to read).

Re: Might take a break from PSO for a while...
The purpose of the OpenVPN Tap is to allow Dolphin to send and receive network packets directly out "on the wire" rather than using the OS's TCP/IP stack. At that raw level wifi packets use a different format than regular ethernet packets.

Re: Might take a break from PSO for a while...
When it shows you the date and time, it asks if you want to return to the boot menu to change it. You have to say NO because Dolphin can't reboot to the BIOS.
Dolphin also won't work with anything besides OpenVPN for BBA emulation.

Re: Might take a break from PSO for a while...
Keyboard works in any slot. The Gol Dragon fight always lags (on a real console) due to the off-screen rendering used for the displays around the arena and especially when the ground-based shockwave occurs (when the dragon lands on the ground). Even using a wii, with a significant clock boost over t...

^ Then I guess I'm still screwed with that one. I don't have one of those, and they're as common as Char WaveBirds, nowadays. I can't even find any on eBay. Nah man, they're easy to find and dirt cheap. Example: http://www.amazon.com/SD-Card-Adapter-Wii-Gray-Nintendo/dp/B00BYGH188/ref=pd_cp_147_2/1...
