I have installed 2 afterburner lights and I have to say the resuts are remarkable, nothing beats playing bomberman or mario kart in complete darkness. There are a few things to be careful of though, for example in mine (the first one I did) I managed to get some dust trapped inside the casing (could...

Well I did some further testing yesterday and found that CPS-2 games runn in full speed with a frameskip of 6 (skip every other frame) and sound disabled. I tested Alien Vs Predator this way and it was perfectly playable (although silent). I was using an Epia 800 based system with 128MB RAM and the ...

It probably would be a better idea to use on of the machines posted above (based around what I think is a mini ATX motherboard) as even a cheap Athlon CPU would perform much better than the Epia systems. I was testing a few CPS-2 ROMs on my machine and in order to get anywhere near a playable speed ...

I have had some experience with mini itx motherboards. I built a dedicated mp3 player using the basic Epia 5000 (533MHz) and while I was testing it found that it could emulate Sonic for the Megadrive (full screen with sound) perfectly. I have also built a mini PC using the Epia 800, this I have foun...

Yes there is, it involves soldering a switch to the mainboard of the Saturn to switch between 50Hz or Full screen, full speed 60Hz.

You can probably find more information at http://www.litespeedcomputers.com/sx

I hope this helps :)

So whats the dill I@N? Not gonna post your material list for me? Sorry, I've been busy lately and had the dubious pleasure of re-installing windows on my machine yesterday so have been unable to go online. Anyway, here sre the components I used with Radio Shack catalogue numbers where I could find ...

There is nothing like building somthing that doesnt work well with the PC. The software used is called Girder and is very useful as it...

Read this if you use your PC for playing music / video

I have recently buikt a dedicated mp3 player based around a VIA EPIA motherboard , which performs far better then I could have hoped. Anyway, the main disadvantage with it was a lack of remote control and changing tracks / albums with the mouse was a bit cumbersome. So imagine my delight when I disc...

I got mine on it's official European release (14th October 1999?) for ?199 and bought Sega Rally 2 for an extra ?35.

The modem on it died within a year though and I had to send the whole console back to Sega for them to fix it  But apart from that, it is still in perfect working order.

I thought that was quite funny :D

I also own an X-box, this meant that I know how big the console in question is and made me appreciate the humour even more. Do you see?

Sega should re-release the Nomad (Hand held Megadrive), with today's modern technology they could improve the battery life and have a much larger screen as well as making it smaller.

It was never relesed in the UK and I really want one, but am not prepared to pay upwards of ?100 for it on Ebay :(

Thanks guys, I will probably try the hypercam thing tomorrow. I will be using a 1.8G P4 so hopefully I should get reasonable results, also I am quite handy when it comes to using virtual dub so that isn't really a problem. The files are Real Media, but I am obviously reluctant to buy the full versio...

Saving streaming video

I need to know if there is any way to save/copy/download streaming video from the internet directly to my hard drive so I can watch it later. I know that recording streaming audio is easy, but I cannot seem to find any information about how to record video :? Any help would be grately appreciated :)

It does indeed look cool, incidentally, I am currently using the same mini itx mainboard as that to build myself a dedicated mp3 player / digital photoframe (there is probably a better way of explaining that) & 8bit arcade emulator in one. The PSU is probably a laptop style external one with a D...

As stated above, Space Invaders is very good, the other 2 I have that have taken most of my time are Mario Kart and Bomberman. I am 98% sure that this will indeed play imported Saturn games. I know for a fact that you can get get cartridges to allow you to boot imported games and 'Satellite' does ring a bell. EDIT: I just checked Lik-Sang and found this: http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=67&products_id=100& ...
