Re: Noise Cancelling Headphones
The active sound cancellation would do VERY little to block out the sound coming in. Your best bet would be to get isolation earbuds that completely block the outside noise. Aye, you might actually get away with this if you use a decent pair of in-ear buds. I know nothing about cinema in China but ...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
I bought a game with zombies in it, an Xbox 360 indie release by the guy who did Dishwasher: Dead Samurai It's a 4 player local co-op twinstick shooter. It's pretty stupid but good fun and only 80 ms points or about $1, £1, etc http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/8990/xboxboxart.th.jpg Youtube gamep...

Re: GTA on DS
There are some 256MB games, and if I'm reading things right the protocol allows a ROM up to 4GB. Of course, this doesn't mean that Nintendo's suppliers are actually prepared to make a ROM that big anytime soon (and the security scheme doesn't seem to lend itself to a multi-chip setup). Ah, I stand ...

Re: GTA on DS
Did a quick search on MiniNova it says only 64MB, I have a 2GB EZ Flash for my DS so I am pretty sure storage space isn't an issue for the DS. Flash memory is cheap but real DS carts are limited by the capacity of the actual ROM chip inside the cart which cannot, in my understanding, be any larger ...

That's not mine thankfully. Apparently UV light from the sun will eventually turn some plastic a mingin' brown like that.Hasney wrote:WTF did you do to that Commodore to get it that colour?

Restoring yellowed computer, console plastics
I saw this on hackaday recently, a recipe for mixing up a gel to safely restore yellowed plastics of consoles or computers. I'm sure a few of you still have a yellowed SNES or two hidden away somewhere. http://retr0bright.wikispaces.com/ http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/8987/retr0brite1.jpg (after...

Call me superficial but while the hardware and software is technically very competent the device itself looks like a cheap, shiny, plastic toy.

I rented the new Prince of Persia on Xbox 360. Kinda glad I did as I'm not enjoying it as much as Sands of Time.

Re: The GTA IV Thread
Why, do you normally expect expansion packs to be free?
I don't think any official word has been given on price (or lack thereof) but I'm struggling to think of many high profile titles which have had free expansions. Burnout Paradise is the only one to come to mind.

Re: The GTA IV Thread
Saints Row gave me everything I wanted from this game. I guess all I really wanted was a sequel that felt something like San Andreas. GTAIV has some expansion coming out next year that I might check out though since it will be free I believe. Free? I've read a few articles where a $15 price has bee...

Fable 2.
Meh. Solid enough for the most part but didn't hold enough interest to warrant a second playthrough.
Gears 2.
Story mode doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned. It's all about horde.

iD Super Pack (Steam) - $35 +VAT = £23 - Half price offer on steam.
Mercenaries 2 (360) - £25 - One week sale on all console games at Morrisons
Braid (360 XBLA)
I was going to buy Spore but fuck EA's heavyhanded DRM tactics.

Yes.Thomas wrote: Also if it is constantly plugged in, will that cause any damage to the battery
If it's continuously powered from the mains, charge the battery to 40% then remove it. Keeping it at 100% will shorten its useable life drastically.

Re: Mobile phone thread
Just curious but does anyone here play mobile phone games? I really used to look down on them until I realized how difficult they are to develop. For those interested, I know there are a lot puzzle quest fans here and we put out a really kick ass version. Puzzle Quest and Sola Rola are pretty much ...

After reading that I'm not surprisedRogers ... lock subscribers into steep 3-year contracts that require a minimum monthly payment of $60 for just 150 minutes, 75 text messages, and 400MB of data.
It's even worse than the laughable UK iPhone tarrifs.

Re: Cycling to work
I live roughly 2.8 km from work and there is one short stretch of road that is up hill and very congested, but if I leave early enough I can probably beat the traffic. Oh I'd say go for it then. You could probably even walk it :P Shame about the scooter though. Here we can get free parking in many ...
