Re: Recruiting help: SCOURGE
Though I wouldn't be able to take on a full-time role of any sort, I'd be glad to make myself available for questions or problems regarding DC integration/optimization.

Re: Revisiting OpenGL + G2 GPU?
The limitations of the bus are so severe that you would not be able to feed a new GPU enough data to have it output anything interesting. This could be done, but would not achieve better video than the DC can do by stock, and would take insane amounts of R&D. It would be an extremely frustrating...

Re: Goddamnit, George Lucas
Chewie got a medal. I really enjoyed the Adywan version. Highlights for me: * Obi-wan/luke discussion about father/vader/force. It felt sooo much better reorganized as he did it * Han is the only shooter. * Vader/Obi-wan fight. Except for the death scene it felt much more antagonistic and fast paced...

Happy 9/9
It seems the date just rolls up on me every year. I wish I had realized this last night so I could have released... anything today (I'm sure I could have dug out an old tech demo or something!).
Celebrate a little by showing your DC some love.

Re: Goddamnit, George Lucas
You know part of what made that scene so great, at least to me, was the lack of sound in favor of music. Vader's grunts and the emperor's scream and crackle of lightning were muted in comparison to the swelling music. Anyways, I think Lucas just enjoys the notion of his work being 'organic' and I ca...

Re: Cease and Desist Letter? WTF
Someone at Atari simply doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. I would reply that none of the archives being hosted contain any copyrighted code and ask her to clarify. They're not protecting the copyrighted code/bios/games. What they're going after now is the use of the name atari. 'At...

Re: HP ditches the hardware business
Web 2.0 was supposed to make free and easy the facilities of content creation and publishing to all users, and to a large part it did. This new appified 'garden fence' computing environment that is emerging does exactly the opposite, forcing users (for the most part) back into being purely content c...

Re: The Dreamcast Real Power [pics and videos inside] [+update]
well, i've read that there's a misinterpretation of the word "caralho" (or carajo in spanish). This word in fact references at the top part of a navy (some kind of tiny place in the highest place possible where a sailor could see far away). Also there's a lot of translations, i think that...

Re: Dreamcast Media Center
Great, but wouldn't it be better ( and obviously more diff and take more time ) to use the emulator core ( and not load the emu bin ) to load the rom directly from dcmc? Two cons of this are the rom recognision, either using a different file extension for each rom type would work or maybe the heade...

Backup system in batch script
I've been working on a backup script for a web ticketing system called Kayako SupportSuite. It's fairly iron-clad and works by performing a mysql dump of the database, compressing it, then making a copy of that to a hot-redundant system along with a copy of the attachments uploaded to the site (whic...

Thanks for the reply, Quzar. I did find the custom version of SDL chui used, it is available here: svn://emuforge.com/kosports/sdl-1.2.13 Thanks to Neoblast for the links some time agao  And now when I build SNES4all it works! Great! Glad to know that it is possible to build the stuff

Re: Compiling SNES4ALL
I remember there was large discussion of this problem after Chui first started releasing his sources. That they were not usable because of custom libraries used. He did however release his forks of SDL at a later point. Not sure if those would be the same ones used for this though, as this is newer ...

Re: Thread-Safe CD-Rom Access????
I've been in and out of the CD-ROM driver, and from that level there should be no problem (there is no point where the hardware will receive two simultaneous requests or such). I can imagine though that further up into the FS layers there is a problem. Most threading stuff is greatly untested on the...

Re: A serious question for our intelligent members.
There are a number of programs that take controller inputs and remap them to virtual KB/Mouse devices to solve the problem you're having mel. Sorry, I can't provide any names as I've never used any, but I've seen them mentioned in many emulator discussions.

Re: State of the Wii - Graphics, Sound, Controls.
I really enjoyed (and found nothing wrong with the graphics of) Murasama, Epic Mickey, and Dokapon Kingdom. Those I think were the last three games I played for the system (aside from Mario Galaxy 2, which enough has been said about), over the course of the last year. I've never found myself having ...

The only thing that gets written to memory are the syscalls IIRC. This is what allows them to be hooked into (I believe that's how dcload does it's iso emulation).

I'm not sure why you would think the flash chip would have anything to do with it. I'm basing my notion off Dan's work with NAVI where he did the same thing and left the ability to switch back to the 'stock' firmware: Look at step 4. http://cadcdev.sourceforge.net/hdwrprj/navi/ Replacing/piggybackin...
