Sounds to me like a broken solder joint or a faulty connector. You might want to have someone who's good at soldering take a look at the board. The controller connections are on a separate board that doesn't require removing any RF/heatsink plates to access, so it's no big deal to have a look at it.

I can use MSN to sign on to my computer and it works fine. Can you just use Windows Dial-Up Networking to make the connection, or do you have to use special MSN software? If it's the latter, you might need to grab some software (IIRC I've heard the name "RASSpy" tossed around; never done ...

so why in the hell wont they just release the info on the DC Possibly because they have contracts with some of their hardware partners saying that they won't release certain info and/or devkit components. The graphics processor, for instance, might require some info that NEC/Videologic would rather...

Are you talking about having JUST a standard ethernet connection that can emulate a modem (for compatibility)
Yes.

I think I got stuck in Fourside/Moonside too. That place is nuts. As I recall, it's something along the lines of the Lost Woods on acid.

what I was saying before though is that DreamSNES emulates a SNES, if a SNES is asked to draw somthing off screen then naturtally DreamSNES would do the same thing. And what I was saying is that the SNES PPU can't be asked to actually "draw" anything in the sense that the PSX GPU or a 3D ...

It had occurred to me that what should be done in terms of constructing a new modem/BBA is to develop an integrated system that is an Ethernet adapter, but instead of interfacing like a BBA, emulates a PPP modem connection. This would make it compatible with *all* the online games instead of the two...

Comparisons to PSX emus are kind of pointless. The SNES graphics model is completely different as it has no frame buffer and generates the display with tile lookups + scroll offsets. There's no clear separation between "on-screen" and "off-screen" drawing in a system like this be...

the basic consensus was that it took an expencive part to make I doubt it. Everything I've heard says that it's based on an RTL8139x; you can find PC network cards based on these chips for around $10. It does need an additional chip to bridge the RTL8139 to the Dreamcast's expansion bus, but I doub...

I have a feeling that pretty much all the score/math bugs are rooted in a problem with decimal mode emulation in the 65816 core. While I haven't actually disassembled anything to see if this is the case, I think it's fairly likely. Decimal mode is a mode of the 6502 and 65816 that is intended for do...

Probably a protection routine which fails on the new CPU core. Some games had routines that were supposed to detect copiers, they'd e.g. try to write to ROM, or try to write to SRAM that shouldn't be there, and then bring up a screen like that if the writes succeed. There are various programs (e.g. ...

There's probably two possibilities here:

1) You've got a broken (or oddly formatted) ROM.

2) DreamSNES's SA-1 emulation is broken due to the CPU core rewrite. I know that SMRPG uses an SA-1, not sure about DBZ:HD... anyone have some solid info on this?

Yeah, I pretty much gave up on making the Pike installer work too. Having a GUI installer is kind of pointless if you have to jump through hoops to get the installer to work - it's easier to just use GoodSNES and master the disc manually with the usual tools. As for Pike as the choice of language, I...
