Re: R4 Sold Out
I trust all your questions have been addressed. Just to summarize for everyone else RSG (before it formally existed) marketed as well as did some graphical work for FOF, and Max Scharl name is in the credits, so they had access to sales figures. RSG contacted developers of other Goat Publishing gam...

Re: Irides: Master of Blocks set for release on 12/12
You make fair points. I guess overall it's the visual style more than anything - even down to the space station in the background. If the game plays so differently then it would be nice if it could look different too. There's many different falling-block games out there but they still all look quit...

Re: Irides: Master of Blocks set for release on 12/12
It's not a bad thing at all, and I'm not demanding the guy start paying royalities or whatever. I guess I would just like the blurb to hint at the game's roots somewhere. :? Here's the thing though -- the roots of the game are harder to truthfully define in a short blurb. What are we supposed to sa...

Re: Irides: Master of Blocks set for release on 12/12
Hey everyone -- because we had a lot of people ask, here is our largest European retailer for the game that is already signed up and taking pre-orders: http://www.genkivideogames.com/games/irides-new-goat-dreamcast/irides We are also working to ensure that the game is carried in lots of other retail...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
Anyway have you guys thought of a packaging, I really dislike Goat Packaging they are not in sync. Well, of those that you have there, only one of them is the actual cover to the game. You realize how out of place they will look in a collection, I don't even know where to file them do I keep them w...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
Over the last few months I have come to understand Dan/Goat, I have also learned a lot about e_business and management in general. Glad I could help! Having said that, like I said before, don't compare us to RedSpotGames, it simply isn't fair. They learned from our mistakes and our own, and I'd lik...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
It's not like Max showed up to the senile team and just finished all the work they hadn't done yet. During all that time they were finishing it. RedSpot's 'secret' is to simply not discuss projects until they are absolutely ready. Which they -- or *anyone* -- could have realized was the best strate...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
IMPETUS, I wonder why it work with Red Spot Games then. GOATDAN annouce games years before. Only small games amount will be done at all. Rushrush Rally Racing was annouce years before also, but nothing than words happend. Red Spot Games annouces only 1,5 month before it is done and makes lot market...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
I think a lot of folks who are critical of Dan do not realize how vaporous and unpredictable the nature of homebrew development is. The dev-teams making these games (often just a couple of friends) are inexperienced hobbyists who can be put off by any number of personal or professional obstacles. I...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
I really appreciate what you're doing, Dan, and I really want to thank you for all your efforts you put into this. But however, I think you have to find a Europe- and/or Japan-based retailer to distribute your games outside of North America. It's really hard to buy Irides if you don't own PayPal. F...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
I am new, please excuse my english. GOATDAN, I can say that I was some of the first DC gamers in France that bought Feet Of Fury and Cool Herders, Inhabitants and Maquipai and really like the games. I saved Money to buy all new 10 new GOAT STORE games but have been very disappointed. It seems confu...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
- And then you vanished for years leaving the field empty. Goat Store didn't have a turbulent start you guys started proper where as Max started Van Basilco or something which needless to say was a horible horrible disaster a bizzarre name and a website only in German and poor marketing. I wanted t...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
Can you plan a limited edition for Irides ? There is a chance of such a thing. We are working with a few different things right now, although no promises. The truth of the matter is that if we made a limited run of say, 100 discs, it would cost us just as much to print those 100 discs as if ...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
I half expected you guys to make your bread and butter from another source, but reading it officially puts things into perspective, but you know this is a sustainable bussiness. You are already into it and you should consider going the extra mile. I know saying it is actually way easier then doing ...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
I am already registered and am intrested in all the Goat published games but I didn't buy them back in the day cause I wasn't in America now that I am I could use a Goat Publishing Bundle, I hope I am not the only one. To celebrate the release of Irides you could take a page out of RedSpotGames boo...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
Don't forget the inde game bundles. It's very hard to do public bundles for a variety of reasons. I can suggest signing up as a member, as when we do things like that they are almost always member exclusive things... I understand that I don't need descriptions however when there isn't even a pictur...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
We're working on and will be doing product pictures for everything in the future. As for descriptions, they aren't huge but we've found that most collectors already know the game that they want, and don't even read the descriptions on the pages, so we didn't want to make them any longer. That, and i...

Re: GOAT Publishing: An Open Letter to the Dreamcast Community
I won't say right now, as I don't have anything gold or darn close to gold in my hands to be ready to start promoting it. All I will say is that people may be very surprised to find out what we have, if it ever gets to the point that we can announce them :) And, as you may have seen today, the firs...
