Mega Net
Mega Net was a service created which allowed Sega 16-bit owners to access the internet. This was due to special equipment in the form of a cartridge that had a cable that connected to the telephone line.
When connected to the telephone line, the cartridge worked as a kind of modem and allowed the owner of the device to access online content. Navigation took place through a menu that had options such as sending and receiving emails, fax messages and access to an electronic magazine that was produced in partnership between Tectoy and Abril Jovem, which talked about comics and RPG. Users could still access Tectoy News, which always published news and new products that were being launched by the company, which was very interesting and innovative, since at that time the investment for advertisements on the internet was very insipid, putting the company ahead of your competitors' time.
To facilitate its use, some time later the keyboard compatible with the modem was launched, so typing Fax messages and emails became less tedious. The only downside of this service in Brazil was that some cities had to pay long distance charges to use it.
Some time later, Tectoy launched the Mega Net 2 (it had a cartridge slot), which was based on the X-Band device for the Sega Genesis (the Mega Drive in the USA), which had the great advantage of allowing online games between players, in real time and each one in their home – and with the right to online ranking! Pretty cool, isn't it?

now the question with all the technological advances of today's programmers, has anyone tried to make an advanced Mega Net with a fast Wi-fi connection like they did with the Dreamcast? maybe even seline team could make a beast of rage with the online option for genesis or am i dreaming too big XD

Re: Mega Net
I'm not familiar with the Mega Net but if it's just a dialup connection, I'd imagine DreamPi would already work with it.
