Playing imports on a Sega CD system?
I have been contemplating buying a few import games for my Sega CD system, but then I stopped to consider if there is a territory lockout for different regions like there is for the Saturn and Dreamcast. Does anyone know if this is the case, or what can be done to play imports (were there even mod-chips back then?)?

There's an Action Replay CDX, which works on certain machines. If you want more information, PM me.

Stop whining, the only reason to stay with this account is your post count, screw it, it's not all that special, as you have no respect what so ever. And since there are some mods who think they're very clever, just use a free proxy and there you go.

You can do a hardware mod to the system. Basically what it is is a hardware switch that allows you to switch:
a) between 50hz and 6hz modes, and,
b) Turn off the territory lock.
There are two ways of doing this... send your Genesis/Mega Drive system off to someone with the knowhow for a price, or, find a guide on the internet (which are available) and do it yourself.
If you plan to do it yourself, you will need at least some electronics experience (I have a guide to do this to the snes, but converting my MD to multiregion never interested me, but I did find some guides... bearing in mind this was a year ago).
That should also knock out the territory lock on your Sega CD/Mega CD.
Hope this helps
