Unreal Tournament 2004 Demos
here is the official Atari mirror. im' getting 500kbyte/sec off of it - 404
I'm slightly surprised that no-one has made this topic yet. The demos for UT2k4 are now out, and there is no excuse not to download it (just over 200Mb)
Windows Demo
Mac Demo
Linux Demo
It is, bluntly, amazing fun. I have only played Onslaught so far, but it is so enjoyable I haven't even tried the other modes yet. It is sort of like Warpath in Team Fortress Classic - you have to capture the nodes sequentially. However, capturing nodes isn't instantaneous - the nodes have health, and take time to build. The map in the demo has two routes that you capture, which also adds to the entertainment.
Then, add in vehicles. Mounted guns, too. It is enormously enjoyable, and runs really well to boot, even on a PC like mine (Athlon 1900XP, Gforce 3 Ti200, 512Mb RAM) which is respectable, but nothing noteworthy.
You'll enjoy it, I guarantee

Re: Unreal Tournament 2004 Demos
*Made a right cockup here. I quoted myself and edited the quote, posting again instead of correcting a mistake. If some kind mod could delete this, it'd be appreciated*

the reason why is because i was too busy playing it, i'm looking forward to (trying) to make my own onslaught levels. specially an indoor one that might be interesting...
The reason for having: A firewall
Independance day, the aliens were destroyed because a computer was used to access their network and disable key systems. If they had had a firewall, the earth would be just another worthless rock floating in space.

Well it works just fine at 800x600, full details, on a Duron 1200, MX420, 384MB of SDR.Lunchbox wrote:anyone know the min requirements? is it the same as UT2003?
Edit: I should say this machine gets about 3000 on 3DMark 2001SE so unless you're running onboard graphics you'll have no troules.

or if you get into the 4x4 type vehicle and drive it they'll only get in if you honk the horn, and when they do they're rubbish at shooting the guns at anything remotely threatening...sixteen-bit wrote:After playing the demo a little I've got to hand it to the coders. They've created some damn realistic bots; they all seem to automatically grab the most powerful tank and drive off straight away without waiting for any others to jump in and man the guns
still better than nothing i suppose

Seriously! I wish Tribes faired better with the crowd... Unless, of course, Tribes got it from somewhere else and I'm part of the unknowing crowd...The OK Pope wrote:Hmm, I wonder what game gave them the idea to add vehicles?
