will my new pc run these games?

Post by spiroth10 »

I cant find the stats online, and I dont want to spend my money for nothing.

My PCs stats are:
1.3Ghz processor
256mb ram
11mb video ram
dvd/cdrw drives
40GB hd
Direct AGP 3D graphics

games in question are
Morrowind
Half-life
Half-life 2 *(this one probably is too new and memory intensive)

so which ones (if any) will run on my pc? I'm willing to use low quality texturing/etc. if necessary...

Half life 2, no way, half life 1, probably will run, morrowind, i dont know

you would do well to get a better video card, with a 11 mb card, hardly any game will run, if you can find a GF3 or something, your options will be a lot better

Go to 512MB of RAM and get a better videocard. Youll see a huge boost in performance.

...1.3GHz what? P4? Celeron? M? Athlon XP? 64?

On a side note: Half-Life 2 is far more efficient than one might think. I tried running it on my laptop just to see what it would do, and I got about 15-20fps with my 1.1GHz Pentium M and 64MB shared-memory onboard graphics (ugh). Not the prettiest sight in the world, but it was playable.

HL2 ran like ass on my 1.8 ghz Duron with 256MB RAM and a 128MB Radeon 9550 :?

I'm suspicious about Morrowind running on an 11 MB video card, I highly doubt it will.

ive run the demo with 256 mb ram too, and it worked, but thats all that can be said, a lot of hangups for loading etc..

but there is no way itll run on a 11mb vid card
