Don't get Warioware, you can litterly beat it in 3 days occasional playing. The replay value is ok. But I wouldn't pay more then 10-15 bucks for it.

I see. Now for a really tough question. Which multiplayer games can you play where only one person has a copy of the game in their DS?

NSMB Is SOO much fun 2 player. With 1 or 2 carts. My friend and I spent a good 45minutes playing it.

I suggest Phoenix Wright, and if you're willing to import and like fighters, Bleach DS.

Don't forget Meteos if you're into puzzle games.

WarioWare has a lot of replay value IMO. I took this game on a trip I took with some friends once, and we had a blast trying to beat each others high scores.

I know it was already mentioned, but let me reiterate: Trauma Center.

Phoenix Wright gets my vote, even though it has zero replay value and lots of text scrolling. Its still great fun.

Cool, thanks! Another question regarding online play. Can you actually just connect via a wireless router for games like Mario cart and play in real time with others or is that like racing their best time with the other player as a "ghost" car?

Thankfully, the DS has actual real online play, racing in real time - not ghost garbage like the N-Gage.

Another game that you should probably check out. Although I haven't played the DS version, I know that the MonkeyBall franchise is fantastic, so I can't imagine that the DS versions of it would suck. Therefore, you should check out at least one of those games on the DS.

Be careful with your DS, though. My son's DS just broke, and Nintendo is going to charge us $50 to repair it (which is actually at a discount of about $30-35). The hinge between the top and bottom screen broke a little bit, which causes the top section to wobble terribly while you're trying to play. Therefore, it's on a shelf until we get the shipping label from Ninty, at which point it will be on its way to the factory.

Just so you know - Physical damage to the unit, no matter who's at fault, is not covered by your warranty. You do get a discount for having it under warranty, as mentioned above, but you don't get the repairs done for free.

Sadly, the DS MonkeyBall is filled with missed opportunities.

The single-player game is fine, though you'll probably find yourself using the d-pad rather than the stylus for control.

The multiplayer is terrible. There is no online play, and it feels like they just kind of patched mandatory touchscreen controls into all of them. None of the touchscreen controls are well thought out, and in some cases (like Monkey Bowling) somewhat break the mechanics of the game. Furthermore, you *have* to use network play for multiplayer, even in turn-based games like Golf and Bowling. One of the advantages of *all* the other Monkey Ball games is that they're one of the few party games you can play when you don't have enough controllers. But they don't allow for control-passing in this version, for some reason.

If you want a portable Monkey Ball, get Super Monkey Ball Jr. for GBA. It's got a lower frame rate (software 3D engines on GBA will do that), but it's surprisingly well-done, it's cheaper, and it actually lets you pass the system around for multiplayer games. I used to do this on the bus all the time with a friend in college.
