I've got an AR, but I don't know if I'll have the cash for a Wii now or not.

I'll try it out soon after I get my Wii next Sunday. It was already on my list to see if SDLoad worked or not on the Wii...

I mentioned this on BlueGuerrila and someone brought up a good point. The AR with freeloader has little bumps on the underside that apparently cause the disc to stop spinning and could cause damage to the Wii. It doesn't damage the Cube, so I can't say how it would damage the Wii. I'm in your boat Hasney, such titles as RE4, Sonic Gems and others I would like to still be able to play on my Wii.

Unfortunately I have to wait another 3 weeks, but I am stoked to get my Wii. I would love a confirmation by Nintendo as to whether or not it works, but I doubt they would actually confirm it, would they?

For what? Sanding off the dots? If that's the case, are they indeed used to help stop the disc or does it stop automatically? If it stops without using the dots on the bottom, then what the hell are they there for?

Ejecting from the mold? Just a possibility.

Maybe...

Either way, if anyone in the US has one and is getting a Wii on launch, I'd love to hear your comments on it.

The only thing they could possibly do, aside from Ex-Cyber's suggestion, would be air resistance. I don't know the physics behind it but there is a very good reason golf balls are dented the way they are.

My theory:they don't mean jack. Doesn't mean it couldn't potentially hurt the Wii.

Do you mean the stand-alone free loader you can purchase, or the AR with Free loader?

I wouldn't trust maxconsole. I saw the whole fiasco with Zeus and the other admins. Basically, Zeus is now the owner of maxconsole, because he forced the other admins out. Remember that maxconsole got its popularity because of its anti-PS2NFO attitude. Now, most of the good old members are gone and they have become more of a commercial site than a scene site.

Brakken had a blog with all this but he took it down. He was tired of it.

I have the AR. The Wii has SD card support, so is this all I need?

No, as that is part of the Wii hardware, not the GC hardware. The Wii doesn't know it exists. You need the SD card memory card adapter for GC.

Ooooh. Well, depending on the price I might just pass it up. I can emulate things on XBox anyway.

Ok, now I know it works with freeloader, my GC will officially lose all use when I get my Wii!
