50/60hz Switch Tutorial

Post by BOB_LORDOFEVIL_2001 »

PAL/NTSC Conversion Tutorial

Tools Needed:

Two Wires

Soldering Iron

Steady Hand

Patience

And a Dreamcast :) (Soz just had to put that in)

Instructions:

Take everything out of your Dreamcast until you get to the motherboard.

Now underneath the Motherboard near the TV Out Connector, There will be a bridge (R422), Solder this bridge together to force the DC to run at 60hz PAL.

If for any reason you need NTSC then you can just solder a switch here

Enjoy :)

I heard this didn't work. Anyway, what do you connect from R422? R422 is a resistor. I need to know what other joint to connect too.

i got it to work on my US DC, but it didn't do what i wanted it to do. i wanted it to make a PAL game display in NTSC and that didn't happen :-\ i think the only use of it is to make US systems display properly on older PAL tv's.

I was hoping it would do that. I just don't happen to have a PAL TV, so this does nothing for me I guess.

it only changes the signal from ntsc to pal. it doesnt change the refresh rate. I did this with a flaky us DC and it works a treat.
