WEll I had used hotglue.. all my future mods are going to use superglue. and the plexi couldn't be mounted under the lid because then the CD wouldn't have room to spin. so I had to leave more plexi to sit on top of the lid. Can't please everyone.. LOL. If you have a better method of getting plexi *into* the lid then please by all means throw me a bone. I'm always open to new ideas and suggestions.

I'm guessin that's a side window. You can tell by the glue job all around the side of the plexi, as seen on top of the DC.And why is the left side of the dc missing some pieces.
Good idea gone wrong, IMO. That said, I've never even attempted something like this. So who am I to judge?

I guess this would hurt some peoples feelings... but I see it as I need to hold my work to a higher standard. Thanks ya'll.. I appreciate the criticism even if I think theres a little haterism mixed in I'm taking it back to the shop and working on it some more. The only way it'll look good is making the plexi sit flush in the window I cut.

The console and the controllers were painted well, so if that was your first attempt at doing so, it looks decent. Heck, my first paint job was a mess.14thpatriot wrote:I guess this would hurt some peoples feelings... but I see it as I need to hold my work to a higher standard. Thanks ya'll.. The window is awful, however i like the paint job, keeping the bottom white was a good idea, the colours go well together.

I used a dremel to cut the plexi.. Unfortunately it wasn't one of the nicer models that have the speed control on it.. It's 35000 RPMs or off.. 35000 is great to get started, but I need something in the area of 10000 once I get down to the size I want but need to file down. The plexi was from Lowe's. It is really thick, it's lucite (made to replace broken windows till a real replacement is availible.) It's cheap as all get out but not thin.. I'm currently redoing the plexi and I think it looks much better.. I don't think realistically I'd be able to get it perfectly into the lid. All I can do is eliminate excess until I have a bare minimum of plexi. BTW thanks for the kind words about the paint job. Plastic Enamel spray paint is really nice. If you get one of those pistol grips made for spray cans it really helps keep the runs to a bare minimum.
