Could anyone point me to another site for getting off the ground on DC deving? Either that, or explain what exactly this Cygwin thing does...will it complile C++ source?

Cygwin provides a unix compatibility layer for Windows. It essentially allows unix programs to think they're running in a unix environment even though its running on windows. You can think of it as a unix "emulator" of sorts, but its not quite the same meaning. It essentially translates the unix calls into the appropriate windows calls.

The reason its required for DCdeving on windows is for GCC and the associated toolchain...
